The Little List

Our founder Lindzi Scharf has babies on the brain — having recently given birth to her second child. And she’s clearly not alone. In light of the recent baby boom, we’ve rounded up our favorite items for newborns, toddlers, and kids — along with a few stylish necessities for new mamas.

BAREFOOT DREAMS

The Malibu brand's CozyChic Lite Classic Newborn Set comes with a super soft cardigan, matching pants, a little beanie, and three pairs of socks. The machine washable pieces are available in baby blue or pewter and are packaged in an adorable miniature suitcase — so your little one has his or her own hospital bag that’s ready-to-go when you are.

Available for $149 at amazon.com.

SPLENDID

The brand’s Infant Boy Icy Fleece Onesie is the epitome of cool. Stylish enough for daytime strolls but cozy enough for sleep(less) nights, this faded denim design includes knee patches with a snap bottom, the latter of which allows for easy diaper access. The onesie is sold in three sizes: 0m-3m, 3m-6m, and 6m-9m.

Available for $48 at splendid.com.

CUDDLE AND KIND

The company’s name says it all. If you’re looking for a baby gift that is both fuzzy and philanthropic, Cuddle and Kind’s hand-knit dolls are the perfect heirloom to give and receive. For each doll sold, the company gives ten meals to children in need.

Available for $36-$86 (depending on the doll’s size) at cuddleandkind.com.

WILDBIRD BABY

Known for their stylish baby slings, the female-founded Southern California-based company recently branched out into cozy sleep sacks, crib sheets, and quilts with new offerings soon on the horizon. Wildbird Baby’s modern designs feel luxurious thanks to their breathable linen fabric, which is durable and machine-washable.

Available $48 (for a quilted sham & pillow) to $98 (for a quilted blanket) at wildbird.co.

MAUS

This recently-launched baby and toddler line, which is designed and manufactured in Los Angeles, offers organic, sustainably-made essentials as functional as they are affordable. Founded by fashion designer Larissa Hadjio — a mother herself who also has eponymous line for adults — Maus includes basics like a set of three bibs ($14); jersey and jogger pants ($23); t-shirts ($23); onesies ($29); terry and jersey dresses ($28); cotton rib leggings ($22); and cotton fleece turtle neck shirts ($38) in bold colors including rust, sunrise, and cactus.

TEA COLLECTION

This Northern California-based children’s brand is one of the most fashionable kids clothing companies out there, as underscored by its Pocket Shortie Romper ($33) and Print Mix Baby Romper ($40). Meanwhile, Tea Collection’s sustainable approach and give-back model only adds to its appeal. The mindful company donates ten percent of their annual profits to philanthropic organizations worldwide. (According to the brand, over the last twenty years, it has donated over $1.5 million to local grassroots organizations through its ongoing partnership with The Global Fund for Children.) The company also recently launched Tea Rewear, which allows consumers to trade in, sell, or shop pre-loved Tea Collection pieces.

Available at teacollection.com.

SUN & LACE

Founded by Briana Raday, the midwest-based company offers handcrafted leather baby shoes and accessories that are likely to remain in one’s family from generation to generation. One of our favorite designs is its Forest Print Leather Baby Boots, which include toast suede laces and sand suede soles.

Available for $46 at sunandlace.com.

DOEN

The cult-favorite Southern California-brand's two-piece Leaf Playsuit in the Rouge Pomme Et Poire pattern is also available in a variety of adult styles — allowing mom to match her mini-mes.

Available for $98 at shopdoen.com.

OLIVER JEFFERS x FEIT

Northern Irish artist and author Oliver Jeffers collaborated with artisan footwear brand FEIT on a special-edition capsule of indoor slippers for children and adults. Each pair is sold with an artbook written and illustrated by Jeffers exclusively for FEIT.

Available for $300 (for kids) and $350 (for adults) at feitdirect.com.

FLY TOT

Traveling with toddlers just got a touch easier thanks to Fly Tot, an inflatable airplane cushion that fits between seats — allowing kids to stretch out their legs and (dare we say?!) sleep. This lightweight, durable, and easily inflatable/deflatable invention was created by two California-based mothers, Kate Kuo and Winnie Lu, who designed the product for families on-the-go.

Available for $99 at fly-tot.com.

LINNÉ BEBE

Founded by Jenna Levine, the beauty brand just launched a sensitive skin capsule collection for babies and mothers. The clean, sustainable line is gentle enough for children but luxurious enough for adults. In fact, each product is formulated for pregnancy and post-partum with a focus on stretch marks, chapped nipples, hormonal acne, and dryness. The three new products include Cleanse, a cleanser for face, body, and baby hair ($58); Nurture, a face and body balm ($62); and Replenish, an oil for face, body, and hair ($56).

Available at linnebotanicals.com.

AUGUSTINUS BADER

After nine months of pregnancy, your body has been pushed to its limit. Treat your belly to the best skincare on the market. Augustinus Bader's The Body Cream, a results-driven cellular renewal product, should be applied throughout your pregnancy — as well as after — to help minimize potential stretch marks. The company, which is a favorite among the Hollywood set, also has a Body Oil available ($100 for 100 ml). Both products are great options, depending on your preferred consistency.

The Body Cream is available for $180 (200 ml) at violetgrey.com.

BEIS

Actress Shay Mitchell's travel gear and accessories company introduced a functional yet modern Diaper Bag Backpack, which includes a changing pad, a diaper and baby wipes pocket, an odor-proof pouch, teething ring, and pacifier pouch.

Available for $148 at beistravel.com.

ARTIPOPPE

This endlessly cool and comfortable baby carrier company's Zeitgeist style is as modern as the parents wearing it. Sold in a wide array of colors and contemporary designs like Charcoal ($403) and Tweed ($739), the carriers are made of luxurious fabrics like cashmere as well as a recycled mulberry silk and cotton blend, the latter of which is machine washable. Each unisex Zeitgeist is easily adjustable for ages newborn to toddlers. We like to call it the "Cadillac of baby carriers."

Available at artipoppe.com.

ARITZIA

The sustainable clothing company's Babaton Carrington shirt is perfect for transitioning post-baby. Thanks to its loose fit, the flattering silhouette will be a wardrobe staple for years to come while currently hiding that post-partum bump that takes a minute to subside.

Available for $78 at aritzia.com.

HUDSON

The beloved California label recently launched a stretch denim maternity line that is fairly true to one’s pre-pregnancy size. Its main difference? The jeans' elastic pocket panels, which provide added support for one's growing belly. The Lana Maternity Mid-Rise Boyfriend Jean is one of our favorite styles with its light indigo everlast wash, distressed details, and rolled hem. We recommend rocking them during your first and second trimesters as well as after pregnancy while you wait for your body to bounce back. We also recommend going up one size for maximum comfort.

Available for $195 at hudsonjeans.com.

CARAA

Founded by Carmen Chen Wu and Aaron Luo, the company's Market Tote is intended to keep your groceries fresh and protected — but we find that it's a great nursing bag thanks to an insulated interior pocket and various well organized compartments. Made out of recycled plastic bottles with Italian leather trim, the bag is perfect for trips to the farmer's market, lunch with a friend, or anywhere really.

Available for $115 at caraasports.com.

FREEDOM MOSES

Like mother, like daughter. The vegan brand's Limon Sands sandals come in both adult and kids sizes.

Available for $50 at freedomoses.com.
